FBI Makes ‘Largest Takedown’ of Anti-Tren Gang Members in Texas Roundup

A joint task force of federal, state, and local law enforcement officials led to the arrest of 16 members of the Venezuelan “Anti-Tren” gang, a spinoff faction of the Tren de Aragua foreign terrorist organization. Officials called it the “largest takedown of suspected Anti-Tren members and associates by the FBI, so far.”

Mexican Government Rushes to Defend Cartel-Connected Banks Targeted for Sanctions by U.S. Treasury Department

Mexico’s government is rushing to the aid of two Mexican-based banks and a brokerage firm that the U.S. Department of the Treasury accused of working with various cartels to launder money or helping them move money to China to pay for fentanyl precursors. The U.S. Department of the Treasury announced financial sanctions on three Mexican nationals and two Mexico-based entities allegedly involved in a drug trafficking and fuel theft network linked to the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generacion (CJNG). The sanctions have been coordinated through the Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) in conjunction with multiple federal law enforcement agencies. The intent is to disrupt the CJNG cartel’s ability to continue reaping profits from fentanyl trafficking and large-scale fuel smuggling activities.

Gulf Cartel Threatens Mexican Border City Cops

Officials in the border city of Reynosa, Tamaulipas, are sounding the alarm after their transit police officers received a threat from alleged Gulf Cartel members for having stopped them over traffic infractions.
